GUERRIC S.D.L. RUSSELL
Guerric S.D.L. Russell is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey in both state and federal courts. He has been with the firm since September 2000. Since being with the firm he has practiced Admiralty, Insurance Law and is active in all levels of state and federal civil litigation.
Mr. Russell was born in Peoria, Illinois. With one parent from the United States and the other from Belgium, he is a dual citizen in both countries. Between 1984 and 1993, he lived in Tokyo and Kobe, Japan. While overseas, he was able to visit and experience various countries and cultures throughout the world.
Upon his graduation from St. Mary's International School, he returned to the United States where he studied Economics, Japanese and French at Illinois Wesleyan University. During his junior year, he spent a semester at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and took part in their Cours de Civilization program.
After earning his undergraduate degree in 1997, he moved to New York and attended Hofstra University School of Law, where he graduated in 2000 cum laude. During his second year of law school, he co-founded with three other second year students the Hofstra University Cyberlaw Forum, a journal dealing with various Internet related legal issues. He was also the journal's Chief Editor of Research and published: "Can the Hofstra Cyberlaw Forum be Sued? An Analysis of Whether Deep Link Framing Violates U.S. Copyright Laws." (February 2000). In addition to his work with the Cyberlaw Forum, he participated in a summer program at the University of Nice School of Law concerning international products liability and European Union Law. He was also a summer intern for the Honorable Phyllis Gangel-Jacob, a now retired Supreme Court Justice in New York County.
