Representing both admitted and non-admitted reinsurers, the attorneys in the firm’s reinsurance practice area have experience handling a variety of reinsurance matters, including disputes ranging from claims involving a single facultative certificate to pro rata treaties involving entire books of business. The firm also represents reinsurers in the context of a variety of commercial disputes, and claims emanating from the liquidation of insolvent cedents.

Whether in arbitration proceedings, in state or federal court litigations, or in the context of liquidation proceedings, the attorneys in the firm’s reinsurance practice area have a comfort level born of experience. That experience is buttressed by the firm’s extensive experience in representing insurers and insureds in coverage matters, and insurance agents and brokers, as well as experience in addressing a variety of insurance regulatory issues.

The firm also counsels reinsurers with regard to facultative or treaty language, and is available to assist in addressing regulatory issues. The firm’s experience in dealing with the New York Insurance Department and its Liquidation Bureau enable the firm to work effectively with the Insurance Department to resolve issues as they arise.
