The firm’s national and international subrogation practice represents most major insurers in the United States, British and French markets. Our goal is to maximize recovery potential by counseling our clients and providing hands-on analysis early on in the loss to ensure the best possible recovery is achieved. Our attorneys work in conjunction with our network of experts to make sure that vital evidence is preserved and that the appropriate factual and technical investigation is conducted. The subrogation practice group utilizes a computerized case-tracking database which allows our clients to view case status and information via a secured website. The database can be tailored to meet the individual needs of each client, providing them with a real-time status report for each case.

The attorneys in this practice area have vast experience in coordinating loss and cause and origin investigations. We are experienced in attending and conducting on-site inspections to evaluate losses, working with experts in a variety of technical and scientific fields, and prosecuting cases at all phases, including mediation, arbitration and trial. We frequently litigate in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey, and often work closely with an extensive network of correspondent counsel litigating cases throughout the United States, and internationally in such places as Canada, England, South Korea, France, Italy, Russia, South Africa, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Egypt, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Our attorneys specialize in maritime and transit-related losses to all forms of cargo including the damage, loss, and shortage of ocean shipments, including containerized cargo, reefer containers, steel and bulk cargo. Our familiarity with maritime and ocean marine losses including the applicable domestic and international law and treaties which govern these matters, enable us maximize recovery potential for our clients. In addition to ocean marine losses our firm frequently handles inland marine and air transit losses, frequently litigating against truckers, air carriers, and freight forwarders worldwide. We also specialize in losses to property such as warehouse losses, fires, thefts and floods, and losses to heavy machinery, computer hardware, and chemical contamination.
